Lightning.nu was registered on February 14, 2012, and is named after the heroine from Final Fantasy XIII, Eclair Farron. After the death of her parents at a young age, she had to be strong for her younger sister so she threw away her name and became Lightning, a symbol of strength and independence.
It was always a dream of mine to own a Final Fantasy-related .nu domain name, and it was a no-brainer to go with Lightning ♪ She is a heroine I admire and respect, and I am proud to have her name represent my home on the web ♥
My online journey began in the summer of 2003, when I discovered the dazzling world of anime fansites ☆ Seeing all the pretty sites motivated me to make my own Yuugiou shrine in July 2003 ♥ I made the leap into paid hosting with Cradle-Robber.net in April 2004, and later bought Ichigo.nu in May 2005 and Hatsukoi.org in December 2005 to organize my growing network.
Lightning.nu represents the rebirth of my network, after I let go of C-R.net in 2012. As I grew along with my network, I wanted a more mature name and I feel blessed to have this beautiful domain name represent me online ♪
The network name is inspired from one of my favorite manga series, Merupuri, which the author described as a lovely romance. I thought it was adorable, so I adopted it as my network name in September 2005. When I bought my third domain in December 2005, I added the heart in the middle to represent my three domains.
Version 2 Memories of the Future features Lightning from FFXIII-2. She inspires hope in an unknown future, and I wanted a timeless design that was dark yet elegant ♪ Launched in October 2020.
